While the opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics is on Friday, events for the games actually will start today. The action on the first day will include two Houston area athletes.

Orrin Bizer of The Woodlands and and Kevon Williams of Houston are on the U.S. Olympic rugby team, which will open up play at 9:30 CT against host France.
Williams will be making his second appearance in an Olympic after being a part of the roster in Tokyo, while Bizer is in his first Olympics.
As is the case with soccer, games in rugby are starting on Wednesday so the entirety of the schedule can be properly spaced out and played before the Olympics end on Aug. 11.
