HOUSTON – The Texans are expected to sign cornerback Troy Pride Jr. to their practice squad, per a league source.
Pride, 26, is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound former Carolina Panthers fourth-round draft pick.

The Texans released former TCU and Miami Dolphins safety Mark Perry to create a spot for Pride.
He originally chose the Texans’ practice squad offer over the New England Patriots, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers and other NFL teams.
Pride was with the Texans’ practice squad last season, signing a reserve-future deal with them before he was releasing during the final roster cutdown to 53 players.
He has also played for the New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders.
He has 42 career tackles and two pass deflections.
Pride has run the 40-yard dash in 4.40 seconds.
Pride recorded 121 tackles, 18 passes broken up and four interceptions with one forced fumble and two fumbles recovered.
Pride was also a sprinter for the Notre Dame track team.
