Joy Addison joined the KPRC 2 News team in November of 2024. She is a native Mississippian and moved to Houston in 2019 after graduating in 2018 from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with bachelor’s degrees in both broadcast journalism and psychology. Joy also earned her Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Before joining KPRC 2 News, Joy spent three years as a Fox News multimedia reporter based in Houston, traveling the country to report breaking news including the Uvalde mass shooting where she was the first reporter to speak with a victim who was inside one of the classrooms. Joy also reported on the border which included coverage of President Biden’s visit there, and spent countless weeks on the campaign trails during election season. Before joining Fox, Joy worked at the Beaumont Fox affiliate, KFDM/Fox4.

She is an avid fitness enthusiast. When not chasing stories, you can find Joy at the muay thai/kickboxing or HIIT gyms sparring or joining classes. When not there, you can likely find her cuddled with her goldendoodle puppy, Prince. Joy also enjoys tennis, painting, cooking, and trying new restaurants. She's a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and National Association of Black Journalists.
