Daniella Guzman

Daniella Guzman is a 4-time Emmy Award winning bilingual journalist, a native Houstonian, and currently anchors KPRC 2 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and Houston’s #1 10 p.m. evening newscast.  

Before returning to Houston in 2022, Daniella worked as a morning news anchor at KNBC in Los Angeles and WMAQ in Chicago. She previously worked at KPRC 2 for 6 years as a weekend anchor and field breaking news reporter. Throughout her career, Daniella has covered all types of local, national, and international breaking news stories. From massive wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, political elections, school shootings, immigration issues at the border, the H1N1 outbreak, the COVID pandemic, three World Series, two Super Bowls, and three Olympics--the most recent being the Paris Olympics. Daniella is fluent in Spanish, which helped her launched her career, working and interning for Univision and Telemundo in both Houston and in Miami at the beginning of her journalism career. 

Daniella has also been recognized for her work, including “The Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Award” by the National Hispanic Media Coalition, along with a “Golden Mike Award” for Best Daytime News Broadcast; she’s won four “Emmy Awards” for her work in Los Angeles and Chicago, and she was recently recognized with a “Telly Award” for her part in covering the Houston Astros parade in 2023 for KPRC 2. In 2023, Daniella was named one of the Top 20 Most Influential Women of Houston. She’s a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Houston with a B.A. in bilingual journalism and communications. 
Daniella has spent countless hours giving back to each city she’s lived and worked in, sitting on several boards to bring attention to many of the non-profit organizations close to her heart. Along with some of her Houston media colleagues, Daniella has helped raise and distribute thousands of dollars in scholarships to journalism students as part of the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals. 

Daniella is a busy working mom to 2 beautiful little girls, 13-year-old Sofia and 9-year-old Olivia. When she’s not on set or chasing a story, Daniella loves to spend time with her family and friends, cooking, dancing, and playing a little pickleball when she has some time.
