Anchor

Lisa Hernandez is an anchor/reporter and joined KPRC 2 News in June 2020. Lisa currently anchors the Noon, 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. weekday newscasts, covering a wide variety of stories with an emphasis on animal welfare issues throughout Texas. 

Lisa is originally from Indio, California, and graduated from UCLA with a BA in Political Science. Her news career started in 2002 as an overnight associate producer in Palm Springs. In 2003, her first on-air job was in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in 2004 she accepted a position as a weekday morning reporter for KABC in Los Angeles. In 2006, she accepted her first anchor position as weekend morning anchor at KABC. In 2011, Lisa made the move to Houston after being named the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. anchor at the CBS affiliate, and joined KPRC 2 in the summer of 2020. 

Lisa is married to her husband Joel, and they share two beautiful daughters. They’re also avid dog lovers and have fostered and rescued for years. They currently have five rescue dogs, and dog hair is found on nearly every dress Lisa wears to work.
