Attorneys selected a panel of 12 jurors and four alternates - six women and 10 men - on Wednesday to decide whether Antonio “AJ” Armstrong is innocent or guilty.
Two jurors were called back to court for questioning on what they heard dealing with the Antonio Armstrong Jr. Trial Friday.
The court heard from more than 200 potential jurors from three separate panels this month. Attorneys made it down to 48 potential jurors. This group will return on May 31 for the final part of the voir dire process, where 12 jurors plus alternates are selected.
It was a busy Wednesday for those involved in the Antonio Armstrong Jr. trial.The morning began with attorneys questioning a juror from the first panel because of concerns about the case and the information they heard. That juror ultimately was excused.
The 178th Criminal Court was filled with potential jurors for the third trial against Antonio Armstrong Jr. Harris County District Attorneys are accusing him of killing his parents, Dawn and Antonio Armstrong Sr.
With the start of a new Voir Dire process, prosecutors and defense attorneys will take the month of May to sit a jury. Each juror will go through individual questioning during the process.
