All of these factors make Saharan dust, or the Saharan Air Layer, a hurricanes enemy. And, while these dust plumes happen every summer, sometimes they are more frequent than others.

So, if Houston were to experience a major earthquake -- which, again, it will NOT -- damage similar to that illustrated above would be possible.
