The brewery was still doing curbside but lost about 20 to 25 percent of total sales when they were forced to close down. Late Friday night, the brewery was informed they could reopen after the state adjusted the language in the order.

Greg Abbott requiring that bars cease operations to limit the spread of COVID-19. Prospect Park Restaurants location at 3100 Fountain View Drive is among the seven bars listed by the TABC. The order TABC says the establishment failed to comply with was issued by Abbott on June 26. The order requires all bars earning at least 51% of their revenue from sales of alcohol to suspend operations.

In a post on Facebook, the bar wrote that they “will fight” the temporary license suspension. Jeff Schafer, general manager of BARge 295 told KPRC 2 the establishment has been operating in accordance with Governor Greg Abbott’s guidelines. Schafer said he does not believe the citation is legal and told KPRC 2 Barge 295 owners plan to appeal. According to TABC, a second citation could result in a 60-day liquor license suspension.

TABC is strictly monitoring bar and restaurant activity and will pursue emergency license suspensions if there are violations that are a threat to public health and safety, officials wrote. TABC has the authority to suspend any license that poses a continuing threat to the public welfare.

He said about 80 people were inside the Dixie Chicken when the roof gave in. Officials at the scene told KBTX that people were inside the bar when the roof collapsed but no one was injured.
