22-year-old Daniel Eugene Douglas was able to escape from the processing center parking garage while being escorted along with three other inmates by Baytown police officers around noon on Thursday.

Byron Collins is charged in the death of 50-year-old Nataliya Shal. Investigators connected Collins to the case through DNA and a cigarette butt at the scene.

Baytown Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest and more information on what led up to the death of a 55-year-old woman who was found dead on the street Tuesday evening.

BAYTOWN, Texas – A video showing the arrest of a young man in Baytown has caused some outrage on social media, especially given the tense climate between citizens and authorities due to the death of George Floyd. The video shows two Baytown officers conducting a traffic stop on Tuesday. “That’s why we pulled over, so we can make sure everything is going right and we end up getting violated. “Especially when, right after, he said ‘I’m going to break your (expletive),” said Gilmore. Mr. Gilmore was also charged with Interfering with Public Duties through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for his actions during his arrest.

BAYTOWN, Texas Dozens gathered in Baytown Thursday to peacefully protest the several controversial cases involving the Baytown Police department. You do not have to take anybody to jail because you are intimidated by our skin color, said a protestor. One of the incidents on the minds of many protestors was the May 2019 shooting of 44-year-old Pamela Turner, who was shot three times during an arrest for outstanding warrants. Baytown Police arrested Skylar Gilmore and Isaiah Phillips after they stopped to record a traffic stop involving one of their friends. Gilmore was also charged with interfering with public duties, but that charge has since been dropped by the Harris County District Attorneys office.
