The fountain, once complete, will bring visitors and their children a place to spend time outdoors and have a splash at the interactive splash pad. Construction is slated to begin summer 2021 for the 55-foot fountain and is being designed by Los Angeles-based fluidity consultants. Park officials hope to have the fountain “unwrapped” to park visitors by December 2021, Dallas Morning News reported. Park officials said in a release 1.7 extra acres will be added to park to help expand the children’s play area and the dog park, according to KSAT.

Lucky for me, organizers replaced the fair as best as they could with the Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru. It felt good to see the 55-foot-tall iconic Big Tex, even if he wore a face mask and the usual crowds didn’t surround him. It felt good to taste food that, even if you can get it elsewhere, somehow tastes better at the fair. When baseball season ends, football begins, and the State Fair of Texas hosts the Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma.

Read full article: This year, the State Fair of Texas will serve its fair food via a drive-thruWhile this years State Fair of Texas is among the many events canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers announced on Wednesday that it will offer its fans an opportunity to snag some of the festivals famous fair food and a photo-op with Big Tex via a socially distanced drive-thru. The State Fair of Texas will welcome visitors into Fair Park for an abridged fair experience dubbed the Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru. The Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru will take place each Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Sept. 25 and Oct. 18. The drive-thru will also open on two weekdays during October: Monday, Oct. 12 and Thursday, Oct. 15. Organizers ask attendees to remain in their car at all times, except when using the restroom or having their photo taken with Big Tex.
