Conroe ISDConroe Independent School District will resume classes Monday. Deer Park ISDDeer Park ISD students will return to school Monday, Feb. 22. Humble ISDHumble ISD plans to resume school on Monday, Feb. 22, for all students, both on-campus and virtual students. District staff is in the process of reaching out to families to connect them with supports and information available through the Act. Royal ISDRoyal ISD students will resume school Tuesday.

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The road to drinkable water won’t be a short one in Lake Jackson after a brain-eating amoeba was found in the water system. The discovery initially led officials to issue a do-not-use order for the Brazosport Water Authority. That was later changed to a boil-water notice for the city of Lake Jackson. Officials said they believe BWA’s distribution system is clean and that the issue is limited to Lake Jackson, where 11 of 54 sites tested there showed low levels of disinfectant. Baker said monthly and quarterly testing records for Lake Jackson show nothing of concern leading up to the discovery of the amoeba.

At 70 years old, Rosa MacDonald-Burns has finally graduated from college. The graduate earned her bachelors of applied technology from Brazosport College. MacDonald-Burns will have the opportunity to take part in a traditional ceremony during May 2021. Until then, her family is celebrating her graduation from coast to coast. In a special video organized by her son, the graduates loved ones are sharing their congratulations to her.
