The accused killer of 12-year-old Carlos Fernandez has been booked into the Harris County Jail.

The man suspected of killing a Cloverleaf 12-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.

“Turn yourself in. Be a man. Don’t be a coward. You know what you did. You were man enough to carry a gun, be man enough to face the consequences of your senseless actions,” the 12-year-old's uncle said.

The mother of the man accused of shooting and killing a 12-year-old boy in Cloverleaf made her first court appearance Monday morning.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, along with his team, provided updates on the deadly shooting of 12-year-old Carlos Fernandez Friday morning.

Officials have named the suspect they say is responsible for murdering 12-year-old Carlos Fernandez.

“He was so wonderful. Words can’t explain what kind of boy this is,” said Daniel Gonzales.

Twelve-year-old Carlos Fernandez never made it to school Monday morning after deputies said he was shot and killed inside his family’s apartment in east Harris County.
