Exciting news for the Southwestern Athletic Conference! Commissioner Charles McClelland, who has played a pivotal role in boosting the league's visibility with broadcasts on ESPN and HBCUGO, has received a contract extension through 2032. McClelland, also the first HBCU representative to chair the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee, continues to make strides for the conference.

Commissioners of conferences with historically Black colleges and universities have needed to find new ways to adjust to changes in college sports like NIL and the transfer portal.
