HOUSTON – Hany Mukhtar scored two of Nashville’s three first-half goals in a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night. Mukhtar opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and Abu Danladi scored on a header four minutes later. Mukhtar added another one in the 23rd, beating Dynamo goalkeeper Marko Maric on a free kick. Houston's Maruo Manotas was shown a straight red card for a serious foul in first-half stoppage time and the Dynamo played a man down the rest of the way. Houston (4-5-7) snapped six-game winless streak dating to a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 5. It was the 30-year-old midfielder's first goal of the season and the fifth of his career.

HOUSTON Mauro Manotas scored on header in the 85th minute and the Houston Dynamo beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Saturday night. The Dynamo (3-2-4) have a four-match undefeated streak, outscoring opponents 10-3. Sporting KC (5-3-2) is winless in its last four. Houston goalie Marko Maric deflected Khiry Shelton's shot to Erik Hurtado, who banked it into the back of the net in the 30th minute for Sporting KC. Tim Melia made four saves for Sporting KC.

It was the second straight win for Houston (2-2-4), which beat Sporting Kansas City on the road Aug. 25. Darwin Quintero, who was traded to Houston from Minnesota (3-3-2) in November, scored in the 28th minute in his first game against his former team. Quintero blasted a right-footed shot inside the near post that beat sliding goalie Greg Ranjitsingh. Lassiter entered in the 55th and scored 10 minutes later on an easy redirect of a cross.

Quintero sealed it with goals in the 57th, on a give-and-go with Darwin Cern, and 61st. Quintero also had two assists, on goals by Elis and Ramirez, to help coach Tab Ramos get his first victory for Houston. Johnny Russell and Gadi Kinda scored for Kansas City (5-2-0), which still sits atop the Western Conference. Sporting KC announced nearly 2,300 people were in attendance at Childrens Mercy Park for its first home game since March.
