Coach Robinson (third state title) continued to throw big guards and towering posts at Cy Creek all game. AdThe scary thing is that DeSoto will be back next season, headlined by the 4-Star Smith -- also the Title Game MVP.

Duncanville (boys), Argyle (boys), DeSoto (girls), Dallas Bishop Lynch (girls) and Fort Worth Southwest Christian (girls) all were crowned state champions over the last week. Like I did for the football season, I'm going to offer up some top-of-mind, knee-jerk predictions for the 2021-22 season - so here we go. With her continued growth and another stacked team coming back in 2021-22, Lake Dallas will be a team to be feared in 5A. The 2021-22 tournament season is going to be crazy and a welcome return to normalcy.

After all the games, all the upsets, the Top 2 ranked teams (TABC rankings) in the state meet for the right to hoist the 6A State Championship trophy. Cypress Creek was 41-0 last year heading into the State Championship before losing to Duncanville. A lot of the 2019-20 Frisco Liberty team returned but the team only finished third in 9-5A behind state-ranked Frisco Lone Star and Frisco Memorial. AdThrough a strong defensive mindset, Liberty is back at the State Championship game - marking its third straight trip to the finals.

Trinity leaned all the way on its stud junior running back for 455 yards, six TDs and upset Allen. Cedar Hill, on the other hand, prefers to keep the game more in balance with precision offense and stingy defense. Only one Cedar Hill game this year had both teams scoring in the 40s. In the other 10 games, the scoring average of the two teams was 48 points per game combined.

Guyer raced out to a 24-7 first half lead only to see Abilene make things a bit interesting a couple times in the second half. Prosper's D Stifles EatonIn a close game, Prosper forced three Eaton interceptions to come out with a 27-17 win to move on to Regional Finals against Guyer. He also added two more scores on the ground, which was all the offense Prosper needed in the win. In addition to the three interceptions, Prosper held Eaton to just 205 yards of offense and only 47 yards rushing.

Pilot Point won by 38 points last week but also has an 18-point loss to Whitesboro, who Brock beat 50-7. Big question: Will Brock roll over Pilot Point on the way to an undefeated regular season or will Pilot Point play spoiler?
