With Thanksgiving just around the corner, local organization Families Helping Families is hard at work, preparing to provide 40 tons of food to families in need across the Houston area.

A trip to the grocery store has become more expensive for everyone. Even nonprofits like Families Helping Families are struggling to provide food to those in need due to rising costs.

A Houston-area man is now making it his mission to help families who may be struggling through the holiday season.

On Saturday, several organizers and hundreds of volunteers provided food for thousands of families in the Houston area.
