A woman and her boyfriend were taken into custody and charged late Tuesday, two days after the skeletal remains of a child were found inside an apartment in west Harris County. The child’s three surviving siblings were also found in the apartment, which appeared to be abandoned.

The mother of three children who were found living in an abandoned apartment with the skeletal remains of their 9-year-old sibling has been questioned and released, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirms.
