The bayou is up way above its banks but the good news is it hasn't gotten into any homes.

One of the great joys of living in Houston is a walk down Heights Boulevard, looking at all the grand homes lining the well-known thoroughfare. Now, one of those gems -- on a double lot -- is for sale.

The Texas Department of Transportation is hoping to elevate portions of I-10′s main lanes between Heights Boulevard and I-45, which officials say was impassable during Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Imelda.

A reconstruction project in the Heights has a lot of residents talking. The 11th Street reconstruction project in the Heights neighborhood is set to turn the street from two lanes in each direction down to one lane in each direction, and a lot of folks stand on both sides of the aisle when it comes to these changes.

Texas artists have installed sculptures on eight designated sites alongside the esplanade's walking, jogging, and nature trails.

With a mission to create an outdoor public exhibition, TRUE NORTH, a Heights Boulevard sculpture project, collaborated with notable Texas artists to construct eight sculptures in the Houston Heights community. The project including sculptures representative of regional works of contemporary art is located alongside the esplanade’s jogging trails. The eight sculpture exhibit features unique works including a carbon sink, dodecahedron, wind vane and weather station and more. “TRUE NORTH’s mission is to organize an outdoor public exhibition on the esplanade of Heights Boulevard — representative of regional works of contemporary art — for the enjoyment of our community and visitors and to advance the understanding and appreciation of art,” the Houston Heights Association states on its website. Houstonians are welcomed to explore the diverse works through December.
