Hertz filed for bankruptcy protection in May 2020. When it entered bankruptcy protection, Hertz named its fourth chief executive in six years.

According to CNN Business, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to the sharp decline in air travel caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Several cars, such as the 2018 Nissan Sentra, are being sold for $10,395, almost 12% below market value. Those interested in purchasing from Hertz can shop online and have the vehicle delivered within a 75-mile radius.
