In addition to taking over as the head football coach, Vaughn will be the high school’s athletic director. With 19 years of experience in education, the Golden Eagles’ newest head man has a clear understanding of what he hopes to accomplish.

“It’s a lot of weight with (Ryan) Niblett gone,” he said. “I just have to play up to my expectations and do what I know I’m capable of. I’ve been playing on varsity since my sophomore year, so I’ve had plenty of time to prepare for this.”

Weighing in at just over 300 pounds and towering over his teammates with a 6-foot-5 frame, Malachi Godfrey is truly a force to be reckoned with in the trenches. Physicality aside, Godfrey brings much more to the table.

Despite starting the season with a 3-4 record, Fort Bend Christian would subsequently win the next six games, including a 41-14 rebuttal to SBS in the Semifinals, en route to the school’s first TAPPS State Championship in their 42-30 victory against All Saints.

Coach Willis has a proven record. He is a State Champion who comes with 30 years of high school coaching experience in Texas, including 14 years as a head football coach. Coach Willis has coached in State Championship games twice in his career, winning a state title in 2012. That year, he led Cedar Park High School to the 4A State Championship. The team, under his direction, returned as a 5A State Finalist two years later.

Despite competing in a tough division which features annual challengers – Port Arthur Memorial, Barbers Hill and Kingwood Park –Crosby proved to be a formidable opponent each week, finishing in the No. 4 spot with an overall record of 6-5 (5-3 in district) en route to a playoff appearance.

David Jackson has made history. The former Dulles assistant coach has been named the first-ever Crawford High School football coach and co-campus coordinator. Crawford is the most recently opened Fort Bend ISD school.

Amid the final weeks of the school year, as Concordia Lutheran Baseball is making moves in the postseason, and the Track team prepares for the TAPPS State Meet, ‘Sader Football stays active on the gridiron.

Kiandrea Barker transferred from Bebee, Arkansas to The Woodlands High School this Spring. He was the No. 1 prospect in Arkansas for the Class of 2025. Since moving, he has earned a Top 10 ranking in the Lone Star State.

District 13-6A has some of the quarterback in the country in Willis’ Derek Lagway Jr. (Florida Commit) and The Woodlands’ Mabrey Mettauer (Wisconsin Commit). But a new name has entered the chat. Class of 2026 Grand Oaks quarterback Grant Smith recently picked up his first offer from Texas A&M and looks the part. Could he be the next big thing to come out of Conroe ISD?

The future of Waller football is in good hands. After struggling in Year One, coach Marcus Mendoza is ready to prove the doubters wrong this upcoming Fall.

Houston has become an epicenter for quarterbacks in the Class of 2024 from the likes of Willis’ DJ Lagway (Florida), The Woodlands’ Mabrey Mettauer (Wisconsin) and Cy-Fair’s Trey Owens (Texas). Add another BCS QB commit to list. Episcopal junior quarterback Karson Gordon was one of the top private school QBs in the state last year, throwing for 2,345 yards and 28 TDs while rushing for 760 yards & 9 TDs.

Kyle Coats has been named College Park’s third coach in school history and comes over to run the Cavalier program with some new hardware. Coats was the co-defensive coordinator at Desoto High School, which won Class 6A DII State Championship in December.

Shane Hanks, who has been a long-time assistant for the Falcons, was named the head coach, and the transition has been seamless as Foster remained consistent in their offseason and upcoming Spring practices.

A pair of 2024 football prospects from the same school earned an Under Armour All-American Game Invite last weekend during the Under Armour Underclassmen Report Camp at Planet Ford Stadium.
