HOUSTON – An 18-wheeler crashed into two vehicles on Interstate 45 in Walker County, leaving three people critically injured, officials said. The two vehicles were at a stop in the southbound lanes due to a previous crash on the highway, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety - Southeast Texas Region. Troopers said a 27-year-old woman and a 4-month-old baby were flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital Downtown and a 34-year-old man was taken via ambulance to Conroe Hospital. CONROE, Texas – A hazmat spill Monday has prompted the closure of one side of Interstate 45 near Conroe. Police are investigating a fatal crash Monday morning. A 54-year-old man was northbound on Interstate 45 near Interstate 610 at 7:50 a.m. when he had a medical episode, police said. According to police, the man was driving a gray Hyundai Sonata and was unable to keep his car in his lane. The car struck a gray van. The Hyundai hit the center wall and started moving south before striking a yellow Dodge van, which had stopped after the initial crash.
