A man was transported to the hospital after a possible road rage shooting on U.S. 59 in southwest Houston, the Houston Police Department said.

All mainlanes on Interstate 610 westbound at State Highway 288 were closed due to a three-vehicle crash that involved a heavy truck on Monday afternoon.

Finks said she was too drunk and was hit while trying to cross the highway, Teare said. Teare said investigators determined that the victim and several other women were brought to Houston by Finks after the coronavirus pandemic prompted the closure of casinos in Las Vegas. Teare said the video showed the woman dropped everything and ran toward I-610 with Finks in pursuit. Teare said the woman nearly made it across I-610 before she was hit. Teare said authorities want to help any of the other women Finks brought to Houston to get back home and get out of prostitution.

HOUSTON – Drivers in the Galleria area remember what it's like to drive down Westheimer road near Interstate 610 before the stay-at-home order went into effect. Drivers said there is less traffic on a typically heavily traveled road. Drivers could see light traffic even when the order lifted since road construction companies have been able to work longer hours. Angel Brothers Construction Company is set to finish its nine miles of asphalt pavement project on Westheimer road in 90 days instead of the initially projected 13 months. Derek Angel, who is the co-owner of Angel Brothers, which is contracted with TxDOT to complete the road project, said his crew can work without interruptions.

HOUSTON – The weekend construction on Interstate 610 at the Interstate 69 that has been causing major delays for drivers has been adjusted, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT said starting Friday at 9 p.m. the total closure for West Loop northbound and Southwest Freeway southbound will be limited to weekend nights. Police are investigating a fatal crash Monday morning. A 54-year-old man was northbound on Interstate 45 near Interstate 610 at 7:50 a.m. when he had a medical episode, police said. According to police, the man was driving a gray Hyundai Sonata and was unable to keep his car in his lane. The car struck a gray van. The Hyundai hit the center wall and started moving south before striking a yellow Dodge van, which had stopped after the initial crash.
