Disney is celebrating this year’s Juneteenth with a new EP about the Black experience featuring actor and activist Yara Shahidi, Chloe Bailey of Chloe x Halle and rapper YBN Cordae, who is donating his proceeds to students attending historically Black colleges and universities.

The singer dedicated her award to the Black Lives Matter movement, and encouraged activists to continue to push forward. DaBaby rapped a verse from the Black Lives Matter remix of his hit song Rockstar with Roddy Ricch at the awards. While holding a baseball bat, DaBaby then stood on a stage behind a group of people who had their fists raised high while others held Black Lives Matter signs. During the performance, video clips were shown of the national protests over the deaths of unarmed Black people including Floyd, Arbery and Taylor.

The long-running Nickelodeon news program is hitting the airwaves once more with a new special, hosted by Alicia Keys, dealing with the protests and social movements sweeping the nation. Nickelodeon announced Tuesday that the "Girl on Fire" singer would helm the upcoming Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special, which aims to "amplify the voices and experiences of Black kids across the country amid current events." Kids, Race and Unity will focus primarily on the work being done by young activists throughout the U.S. and will include leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement answering questions submitted by kids. Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special airs Monday, June 29, at 7 p.m. ET/PT and will simulcast on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, and Nicktoons. A 12-year-old gospel singer named Keedron Bryant has written an original song about the heartbreaking realities of being a young black man. During a time of nationwide protests and unrest over police brutality and racial injustice, the boy's song has become a rallying cry. In the song, Bryant sings: "I'm a young black man, doing all that I can to stand. In the video, Bryant wears a shirt that reads "Black Intelligence" created by a Toronto-based streetwear company. Obama said a friend of his "used the powerful song that went viral by 12-year-old Keedron Bryant to describe the frustrations he was feeling."
