A Hempstead area contractor is now facing first-degree felony theft charges that stems from a lengthy investigation into the town’s former mayor. Robert Glover was booked into the Waller County jail on a charge of theft by a government contractor.

The former Mayor of Hempstead is headed to prison after pleading guilty to a first degree felony of misapplication of fiduciary property. Michael Wolfe pleaded guilty in the middle of trial and was sentenced to six years in prison.

The former mayor of Hempstead, Michael Wolfe, is facing new accusations stemming from his time in office. Wolfe was first charged in 2019 with abuse of official capacity.
