A woman who Harris County Sheriff’s Office officials say hindered their pursuit of her son after he escaped custody stood before a judge today.

Authorities have charged an escaped inmate's mother and sister for helping hide Nigel Sanders after he escaped from Harris County jail. He was found at his mother's home in east Harris County the following morning and arrested after a struggle.

Investigators say Nigel Sanders, 35, was found at his mother’s house on Force St. in the Cloverleaf area of east Harris County. She and Sanders’ sister were both arrested for helping him.
