Officials are investigating after a train hit a truck in the River Oaks District on Wednesday.

It is a frightening crime trend of diners and shoppers followed and robbed and KPRC 2 has learned law enforcement has formed a task force and is going undercover to catch the criminals.

A Houston man says he was followed and robbed in an area where many Houstonians shop and dine and the Houston Police Dept. is releasing the surveillance video to try and catch the suspects.

Holidaze Gallery is located in the District’s central courtyard across from Toulouse Cafe & Bar, neighboring the recently-opened Laura Rathe Fine Art. The gallery is free of charge and will be open Mon-Sat:12PM-8PM and Sun:12PM-6PM and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

HOUSTON – A man was robbed and shot Monday in a parking garage in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood. The shooting was reported about 4:30 p.m. at the River Oaks District shopping center. Lt. Larry Crowson, of the Houston Police Department, said it appears the man was robbed of jewelry and then shot at least once in the lower extremities. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.
