U.S. officials in North Carolina will not federally prosecute the person suspected of killing Shanquella Robinson, a Charlotte-area woman vacationing in Mexico last year, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.

Mexican prosecutors say they've filed charges against a U.S. woman suspected of killing another American seen being beaten in a viral video.

25-year-old Shanquella Robinson was pronounced dead a day after arriving in Cabo for a birthday trip with a group of her friends. Her mother says her friends all had ‘different stories' about how she died.
