Some parents have questions and concerns about the Conroe Independent School District’s plan for students to return to class for the upcoming school year.

A Mississippi church at the center of an arson investigation is the same church currently in a battle with city leaders over a COVID-19 safer-at-home order. First Pentecostal Church in Holly Springs was destroyed by what investigators believe is an arsonist. Investigators found graffiti on pavement in the church parking lot that reads, “Bet you stay home now you hypokrits." We don’t know anyone that we even think could be capable of doing something like this.”The fire comes after Waldrop filed a lawsuit in April against the City of Holly Springs. According to the complaint, the pastor held outdoor services when possible but would hold them indoors while practicing social distancing during inclement weather.

(CNN) – Ammon Bundy, the rancher who led an armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon, said he plans on holding an Easter gathering despite stay-at-home orders implemented during the coronavirus pandemic. Bundy told CNN he wants to gather several hundred people in Idaho at a yet-to-be-announced location. Idaho is one of the 42 states that have implemented a stay-at-home order aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus. Some in Idaho feel officials aren't doing enough to mandate the stay-at-home order. According to the Statesman, Bundy held a meeting last month in opposition to the stay-at-home order.

You may have heard the two phrases “stay-at-home” and “shelter-in-place” during emergencies and disasters such as hurricanes, chemical explosions and even during a pandemic like COVID-19. Shelter-in-place orders are given when residents must stay inside their homes and should not leave at all costs, even for essential errands, according to The Cut. Those orders are usually given after destructive hurricanes, chemical explosions and active shooting events. The same principle applies, but you are allowed to go out for essential business such as work or grocery shopping. According to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, who issued the order Tuesday morning, essential businesses include, these are essential businesses.
