Houston Dynamo FC announced on Monday the hiring of Paolo Nagamura as the team's new head coach.

The Houston Dynamo have parted ways with coach Tab Ramos after the MLS team finished in last place in the Western Conference with just six wins.

Dynamo get a second half goal to beat Sporting KC to earn road win

KANSAS CITY, Kan. Darwin Quintero scored two goals in four minutes and the Houston Dynamo eased past Sporting Kansas City 5-2 on Tuesday night for their first victory of the season. Quintero sealed it with goals in the 57th, on a give-and-go with Darwin Cern, and 61st. Quintero also had two assists, on goals by Elis and Ramirez, to help coach Tab Ramos get his first victory for Houston. Johnny Russell and Gadi Kinda scored for Kansas City (5-2-0), which still sits atop the Western Conference. Sporting KC announced nearly 2,300 people were in attendance at Childrens Mercy Park for its first home game since March.

The Houston Dynamo will once again play a match at their home venue, BBVA Stadium. Houston will host their in-state rivals, FC Dallas, on Friday, August 21. It will be the first match played at BBVA in over five months. I think they did a great job and it helped them in their transition now to their home markets. Teams will take chartered flights, and for the majority of road trips will arrive in the host market on matchday and depart after the match later that evening.

Jeremy Ebobisse and Diego Valeri scored and the Portland Timbers clinched a spot in the knockout round of the MLS is Back tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night. Our first goal was to reach the knockout stage, Portland coach Giovanni Savarese said. We are in a group with three difficult opponents, so every game is a must win, Houston coach Tab Ramos said. It is Ebobisse's second goal in the tournament and his second in five career matches against Houston. The Timbers opened tournament play with a 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy and have won three straight this season after dropping their opener to Minnesota.

The MLS announced Wednesday they will resume their season beginning July 8 with everything based in Orlando. Regular season points can be earned and the winner will earn a spot in the 2021 Concacaf League tournament. MLS officials are confident that medical protocols are in place for the duration as all 26 teams will converge on Orlando. MLS Commissioner Don Garber spoke with the media and says the plan is a good one. Once the tournament ends the MLS plan is for teams to continue playing in their home cities.
