Twin activists and philanthropists Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist take matters in their own hands to save animal from the streets of Houston. The growing stray problem poses both a public safety risk and a health crisis. The sisters give viewers the real, and raw footage as they hit the streets to save the animals they love.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and Commissioner Adrian Garcia joined the Harris County Public Health in an announcement Wednesday about the start of the pet breeding season and ways residents can support the Harris County Pets Resources Center.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A Montgomery County animal shelter had to remove about 50 dogs Saturday morning, many who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey, because of overcrowding. The shelter had reached its maximum capacity of 350, but had more than 450 pets in their care. The removed dogs were transported to an animal rescue shelter in Macomb, Michigan, on Saturday morning. The dogs that were chosen to be removed were larger breeds, which officials say are harder to adopt out. Volunteers and Montgomery County Animal Shelter staff both loaded the pets safely to the emergency bus bound to Michigan, where they will be able to find a loving home.
