Trump did not meet with members of Jacob Blakes family. Trump has also not publicly condemned 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, charged with fatally shooting two demonstrators last week. Trump implied that Rittenhouse only shot the men after he tripped and they attacked him, even though the first fatal shooting happened before Rittenhouse ran away and fell. Kaul says, When you make excuses for people who are involved in that kind of violence, whether its vigilante violence or white supremacist violence or any other kind of violence or destruction, we need clear condemnations of that from our leaders.

WASHINGTON The Latest on Tuesday's elections (all times local):10:40 a.m.A Republican congressional candidate in Connecticut has abruptly ended his campaign on the day of his primary election following his arrest on a domestic assault charge. The state Republican Party says Thomas Gilmer was arrested late Monday and dropped out of the race because of the severity of the accusations." The party had endorsed Gilmer over his primary opponent. Wethersfield police say Gilmer was charged on a warrant with first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree strangulation and posted a $5,000 bond. Gilmers campaign website was down, and he could not immediately be reached for comment.

Kamala Harris as his running mate. Its a move that fulfills the wish of Democrats clamoring to see a woman of color on a major partys presidential ticket for the first time in history. The 55-year-old Harris was elected to the Senate in 2016 after serving as Californias attorney general. Harris competed against Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination but left the race before voting began as she struggled to raise money. One of Harris standout moments of her presidential campaign came at the expense of Biden, when she slammed his past opposition to school busing.

Biden faced Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on the ballot Tuesday, even though Biden has accumulated enough delegates to become the party's presumptive nominee. New Jerseys already-late primary got pushed a month later because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Democratic Gov. ___8:25 p.m.Joe Biden has won Delaware's Democratic presidential primary, while President Donald Trump has won the state's Republican presidential primary. Biden, a longtime senator from Delaware before serving two terms as vice president, is already the party's presumptive nominee.

The Democratic primary in New York’s 16th Congressional District is too early to call. They include all primary elections for state legislature, 16 congressional primaries and the Democratic primary for Queens Borough president. The Democratic Senate primary in Kentucky is too early to call. President Donald Trump was earlier declared the winner of Kentucky's Republican presidential primary, while Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won the Republican Senate primary in the state. Kentucky's Democratic Senate primary is one of the most interesting races on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON The Latest on the 2020 primary elections (all times local):2:30 p.m.Georgia's secretary of state has opened an investigation into voting problems in two counties in metro Atlanta amid reports of voting machine malfunctions in its twice-delayed primary election. Republican Brad Raffensperger on Tuesday announced investigations into Fulton and Dekalb counties' election process. It's the first time Georgia is using its new voting system, which combined touchscreens with scanned paper ballots in races for president, U.S. Senate and dozens of other contests. However, voting delays weren't limited to Atlanta. News outlets also reported problems with poll workers operating voting equipment in Macon and a long line stretching through the parking lot of polling site at a church in Columbus.
