It’s transformation central at Disney Parks in the U.S., as Disney officially announced that it has big plans for Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Splash Mountain one of Disney's most popular but problematic rides will be "completely reimagined," the company announced on Thursday. The log flume ride which is based on the controversial 1946 film "Song of the South" isn't going anywhere. Splash Mountain has been a mainstay at Disney parks since its creation in 1989. The move comes amid fans urging Disney to retheme Splash Mountain because of the racial stereotypes from the film it is based upon. Disney did not give a date for the new Splash Mountain, but noted that "conceptual design work is well underway."

This meant that families were unable to experience the magic or thrill of the Disney theme parks, however, that didn’t stop families and friends from making the best of a bad situation. Disney cast members have officially been away from their jobs for about two months now -- and some are taking their skills and talents to social media to give those bored at home a taste of the Disney magic everyone has been missing. Walt Disney World furloughed its approximately 43,000 workers in April after the theme park closed in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Only about 200 workers remain on the job performing “essential duties" during the closure, officials said. ORLANDO, Fla. – Tilikum, SeaWorld Orlando's infamous killer whale linked to three human deaths, has died, the park says. READ THE ORIGINAL STORY AT WKMGTilikum dragged SeaWorld Orlando trainer Dawn Brancheau underwater in 2010 during a "Dine with Shamu" show, killing her. Tilikum was profiled in the documentary "Blackfish," which helped sway popular opinion against keeping killer whales in captivity at SeaWorld parks. “My heart goes out to our team who cared for him like family.”The killer whale was also linked to two other human deaths. The park obtained the killer whale from Sealand of the Pacific in Canada.

HOUSTON – Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts founder Robert Ray Henry, often known as Mr. Bob, died Monday night. Henry was born in 1927. Bob was a brilliant businessman as well as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. “But it all started with family.”Fans and friends are asked to share any memories they have of Mr. Bob on the company’s Facebook page. “My father, from the very start, hoped to have a family business where he and his children could work together,” said Gary Henry, president of Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts, and eldest son.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A video posted on social media Sunday night shows the Disney character Dopey landing on another costumed character after falling from one deck of a boat to another at Hollywood Studios. The video, posted on Twitter by @ariipariee, shows Dopey falling beneath a rail on the second deck of a river boat during the finale of Fantasmic, a nighttime show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Dopey lands on top of Goofy while other characters continue dancing. Disney said an ambulance was called for two injured employees, both of whom were treated at the scene and released. ORLANDO, Fla. – A man has been arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in connection with the groping of children at Disney’s Pop Century Resort over the Fourth of July holiday. A 7-year-old boy told police that a man grabbed him three times while he was swimming in a pool at the Walt Disney World resort, according to authorities. According to an Orange County Sheriff's Office incident report, the boy and his parents told deputies that Groth grabbed the boy's buttocks. The boy told authorities that he told the man to stop and leave him alone after his buttocks were touched the first time, the report said. The Sheriff's Office said the children identified Groth from a photo and also spotted him after being taken to a baseball field at Disney.

Toothsome Chocolate Factory and Savory Feast Emporium will open later this year at Universal CityWalk. The restaurant joins Emeril's Restaurant Orlando, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and the Hard Rock Cafe. The restaurant is replacing NBA City, which closed in August. The 19th century Steampunk-inspired restaurant has a lineup of unique menu items. "You’ll even be able to watch chocolate creations being made—and purchase your very own from the restaurant’s retail shop to take home and enjoy, " Modesto Alcala vice president of revenue operations said in company blog post.
