A temporary curfew has been ordered in the City of Waller.

HOUSTON The City of Galveston has implemented a series of curfews over the next three nights ahead of Hurricane Laura. The first curfew will go into effect at 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Galveston Mayor Pro Tem Craig Brown signed the order Tuesday implementing the curfew, which prevents people from being on public streets or right-of-way and begins at 10 p.m. tonight, officials wrote on Facebook. The goal of the curfew is to protect residents from looters. Curfews will be in place for these times:Tuesday at 10 p.m. until Wednesday at 6 a.m.Wednesday at 8 p.m. until Thursday at 6 a.m.Thursday at 8 p.m. until Friday at 6 a.m.

BEIRUT – Lebanon on Friday began a two-week partial lockdown and nighttime curfew after coronavirus cases increased sharply following an explosion in Beirut that killed and injured thousands of people. Confirmed cases of the virus have increased from 5,417 a day after the massive blast on Aug. 4 to more than 11,000 on Friday, leading officials to announce the lockdown. Virus cases had already been on the rise since the beginning of July, when an earlier lockdown was lifted and Lebanon’s only international airport was reopened. The blast overwhelmed the city’s hospitals and also badly damaged two that had a key role in handling virus cases. On Wednesday and Thursday, the UAE discovered over 400 confirmed cases of the virus, its highest numbers in about a month amid an aggressive testing campaign.

In Dallas, the curfew was lifted after consultation with police Chief U. Renee Hall and the City Council, said City Manager T.C. In San Antonio, Mayor Ron Nirenberg rescinded the curfew in the downtown business district, which had been put in place on Wednesday. The San Antonio Police Department remains committed to protecting the First Amendment rights of all who peacefully protest while also ensuring the safety of people and protection of property. On Saturday afternoon, about 300 people gathered peacefully in front of San Antonio police headquarters and were set to march later in the day. At least two Austin City Council members have called for Manleys resignation.

Dallas Police Chief Reneé Hall said Sunday afternoon that a curfew will go into effect in the city at 7 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. “for the next several days,” according to The Dallas Morning News. We will not tolerate any more damage to our city,” Hall said during a news conference. The curfew will encompass Dallas neighborhoods including Deep Ellum, The Cedars, the central business district, Victory Park and Uptown. Hall told Dallas residents that they would not be able to access these areas during the curfew. Earlier in the day, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson told WFAA-TV he was considering implementing a curfew.

DALLAS Dallas police enforced a nighttime curfew by making dozens of arrests Sunday night, in a crackdown after several days of demonstrations that saw multiple eruptions of violence. Dallas police tweeted photos Sunday night as officers started making arrests, and within a few hours announced at least 70 arrests and noted there is very little activity occurring in the downtown Dallas area." We will not tolerate any more damage to our city, Hall said. Dallas also closed several downtown civic buildings to the public on Monday, including a civil courthouse and the county administration building. But other protesters still gathered outside the Capitol, and marched on city hall and police headquarters.
