Houston Cinema Arts Society has partnered up with Sundance Film Festival to host the 2021 Sundance Satellite Film Festival starting today through February 2. As one of the only three 2021 Sundance Film Festival world premiere locations in Texas, Michael Robinson, Marketing and Communications Manager for Houston Cinema Arts Society told us this is an event you don’t want to miss. The Moonstruck Drive-In Cinema will accommodate up to 150 cars, making it one of the largest satellite locations in the country. During the screenings, food and beverages will be available for contactless purchase from popular local food trucks and nearby establishments.

The Drive-in off Navigation is set to open Thursday. Tickets are $5 per vehicle up to two occupants, and $10 per vehicle for three or more occupants. Tickets for The Drive-In off Navigation are available starting at 2 p.m. Tuesday and cost between $22-$36 per vehicle, depending on vehicle occupancy and the day of screening. These are the featured February films:Feb. 3: “Father of the Bride,” “50 First Dates”Feb. 4: “Romeo & Juliet,” “Friday the 13th”.

Guests can enjoy the venue’s most-popular films plus two new 2020 releases: The Secret: Dare to Dream and The Broken Hearts Gallery. For a late-night-date-night Sunday through Thursday, the venue offers $20-per-vehicle tickets (for 2 people) for all 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. screenings. Every Sunday night, the venue offers tickets for only $5 per vehicle for the 9:30 and 10:15 p.m. show. The drive-in cinema has yet to announce its new location, which is slated to open in December.

All venue staff are required to wear masks, and Live Nation requests that attendees wear masks upon arrival, where there will be contact-less ticket scanning through their windows. Masks are not required once fans are in their designated tailgate areas, and Live Nation is not requiring that fans wear gloves. Tom See, president of Live Nation Venues-US Concerts, said the company spent months working to find a safe, enjoyable way to put on live shows during the pandemic. A menu of hot food items and nonalcoholic will be available for purchase, Live Nation said.
