A motorcyclist is dead and police are looking into what happened after preliminary evidence showed he was hit by a car before he was run over by a semi-truck.

Police are seeking assistance in identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed 19-year-old Yeriel Rodriguez Mercado.

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist that may have been racing on the Gulf Freeway was killed on Sunday afternoon, officials said. Authorities said the man crashed and fell off of an interchange. The crash happened on the northbound ramp of the Gulf Freeway that connects to Interstate 610 East. The rider may have been racing a silver Chrysler 300 when he crashed and fell onto the feeder below, officials said. Officials said the crash is not considered a hit-and-run since there was never any contact between the motorcycle and the other car.

SPRING, Texas – A man and a woman died in a violent motorcycle crash after they were thrown off an overpass in Spring Friday, deputies said. Deputies said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on the Grand Parkway at Kuykendahl Road. According to deputies, both victims, who were in their 30s, were on the bike when the motorcyclist lost control of the bike at a bend in the road. Both victims died at the scene, deputies said. No other vehicles were involved, deputies said.

HOUSTON – A deadly crash involving a motorcyclist is under investigation in southwest Houston, police said. Officers said the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on Westpark and Addicks Clodine. According to investigators, a man on a motorcycle and another driver collided in the intersection. The motorcyclist was killed and the driver of the car was injured, police said. At this time, investigators said they are working to see if either of the drivers ran a red light.

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist miraculously survived a crash that ended with him being dragged a half a mile down the East Freeway Tuesday, police said. According to officers, the motorcyclist was riding with a group when he sped up and lost control. Police said he hit a vehicle and fell off the motorcycle, which caught on fire. That’s when police said a white Chevy pickup truck hit him and dragged him down the East Freeway. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist is dead after he led deputies on a high-speed chase Tuesday, deputies said. Deputies said the chase came to an end on Mills Road and FM 1960 after the man ran a red light and crashed into a woman’s car. According to deputies, the rider was going about 100 mph when he struck a 70-year-old woman's car, sending it into a pole. The woman is being treated for minor injuries but the motorcyclist died at the scene, deputies said. Deputies said they tried to pull the man over after receiving a tip about a motorcycle that was stolen Monday.

HOUSTON – A Houston family is devastated after 26-year-old Ricardo Sepulveda was killed in a hit-and-run crash last week. The family hopes the driver will come forward to the police. “I always told him that he was born with something special from God since he had a beautiful smile since he was little,” his mother Linda Morgan said. Linda Morgan said since Sepulveda was a little boy he has been filled with wonder and adventure. “That was really Ricky... a really, really, really wonderful human being,” Linda Morgan said.
