The idea that Sicknick died after being sprayed by a chemical irritant has emerged in recent weeks as a new theory in the case. Five people died, including a woman who was shot by a police officer inside the Capitol. Another officer eventually spotted Khater deploying the substance and sprayed Khater himself, authorities said. Sicknick died after defending the Capitol against the mob that stormed the building as Congress was voting to certify Joe Biden’s electoral win over Donald Trump.

The FBI has obtained video that shows the person spraying Brian Sicknick and other law enforcement officers during the Jan. 6 riot, the people said. But they cautioned that federal agents haven't yet identified the suspect by name and the act hasn't been directly tied to Sicknick's death. The circumstances surrounding Sicknick’s death remain unclear and a final cause of death has not yet been determined. The FBI has already released about 250 photos of people being sought for assaulting federal law enforcement officers during the riot.

Sicknick died after an insurrectionist mob stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, interrupting the electoral count after then-President Donald Trump urged them to “fight like hell” to overturn his defeat. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sicknick was a patriot who will be remembered by lawmakers each day as they enter the Capitol. The 42-year-old officer was only the fifth person to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda, a designation for those who are not elected officials, judges or military leaders. Also in attendance was Wenling Chestnut, widow of slain Capitol Police Officer Jacob Chestnut, one of two Capitol Police officers killed by a gunman in 1998.

HOUSTON – A Houston police officer is recovering after a major crash in downtown Houston Monday. Investigators said his patrol car was t-boned by another driver who ran a red light on Gray and Hamilton around 1 a.m. The patrol car flipped and ended up on its roof, police said. Police said the officer was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Investigators said the other driver ran away from the scene and remains on the loose.

(NBC NEWS) – A Los Angeles Police officer is being hailed a hero after saving a man in a wheelchair from a burning vehicle. The rescue was caught on body camera Friday. Two officers were on routine patrol in the San Fernando Valley foothills when they spotted a disabled vehicle engulfed in smoke. You can see officers help both the passenger and the disabled man out of the car just moments before it catches on fire. The fire destroyed the man’s wheelchair, but it was replaced by an officer’s donation.

PASADENA, Texas – A Pasadena police officer, who was headed to Bayshore Hospital on Monday night to help an off-duty deputy, crashed on his way and was injured. The officer was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. The impact of the crash sent the officers patrol cruiser into a utility vehicle, officials said. The officer’s name was not released but Pasadena Police Chief Josh Bruegger said he was a 2-year veteran of the department. The officer was listed in stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his injured arm, officials said.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – The League City Police Department has released the names of the suspect and the police officer who involved in a police officer shooting that left the suspect dead on Wednesday. Matthew Jonathan Krupar, 31, is accused of attacking patrol officer Patrick Bradshaw in a residential community in League City. Bradshaw is an 11-year veteran of the League City Police Department. The officer-involved shooting took place in a residential neighborhood at the 6500 block of Turner Field around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according the League City Police Department. He then assaulted the officer and the officer shot the suspect.
