Sunny day for Mother's Day

HOUSTON – The rain of the past week is a not too distant memory. Cloudy skies remain Sunday with temperatures in the 60s this morning.

Expect mostly cloudy conditions for much of the day with temps increasing to the upper 70s and low 80s as the sun makes an attempt to break through. 

It will be welcome break from the rainy week we just finished which is part of a rainy month which is seeing  official amounts about 5 inches above normal as we approach the half way point of May. 

Because of the mostly cloudy conditions today and the wind from the North, expect highs this Mother’s day in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Monday will be warmer along with more sun and highs in the mid 80s.  Rain eases back into the forecast late Monday into Tuesday which promises to be the best chance for rain next week. Flooding rain is not expected but we will see rainy conditions into Wednesday before we get into a drying trend toward the end of the week.

High temperatures will rise through the week as well with the mid 80s to start and rising to the upper 80s and 90s by next weekend and the start of the following week.
