HOUSTON – The National Weather Service confirmed that storm damage from Tuesday evening in Tarkington Prairie was caused by an EF-1 tornado.
At 6:18 p.m. Tuesday witnesses reported large tree limbs down from a thunderstorm slicing through the area. After conducting a damage survey Wednesday afternoon, Weather Service officials concluded that the damage was caused by a tornado with winds between 86 and 110 miles per hour. The damage path was 100 yards long.
