Overnight tonight:
Scattered showers have moved across the Houston area this evening but a line of persistent, training showers to our northwest has resulted in numerous flood reports and flood warnings across Austin County, Washington County and Grimes County including the cities of Brenham and Navasota. These showers will shift east overnight but more rain is expected in the Houston area overnight from 12am to 3am. Then we get a break from some of the rain until the morning commute.

More Heavy Rain Coming:
We’re under the influence of a strong Pacific jet stream that is helping to amplify our heavy rain chances through Wednesday.
Rainfall totals have added up to 6-11 inches north and west of Houston over the last two days, estimated by Doppler Radar. Houston and cities to the east picked up slightly over an inch of rain.
We will still be under MODERATE FLOOD RISK Wednesday.
Models are suggesting some areas could see anywhere from 3-7 inches of rain through Thursday morning. Flooding issues will be minor, generally low-lying areas and feeder roads.
10-Day forecast
We are warmer this week, but heavy rain is possible through Wednesday. Shower chances linger through the end of the week. While they back off, we’ll see a shot of cooler air also move in as we head into the weekend, but it comes with sunshine.
Heavy rainfall is drenching the Houston area, prompting concerns about flooding. How’s the weather in your location? Share snapshots of your surroundings on Click2Pins and let us know what you’re experiencing. Stay safe and dry! 🌧️
