What a night! We’ve had reported tornadoes in our far northern cities, like Trinity where an EF-1 touched down. The tornado was on the ground for 1-2 minutes and had winds up to 100mph.
Rainfall totals have been very impressive. Our highest rainfall total was Groveton who saw 10.92″! Mont Belvieu saw 8.92″, Onalaska saw 8.52″, Huntsville saw 7.60″, La Porte saw 5.88″, Galveston saw 2.72″, and Houston saw 1.32″.
Winds were very gusty with the thunderstorm. Madisonville saw a 67mph wind gust.
Madisonville and Midway also saw golf ball sized hail.
Tonight’s Forecast:
Tonight will be mild with lows dropping to the lower-70s. Patchy dense fog is possible.
Tuesday’s Forecast:
We are tracking a chance (20%) for showers and a few thunderstorms after 1PM Tuesday. It will be another warm day with highs in the mid-80s. We are not expecting severe weather Tuesday but lightning and a few heavier downpours are possible.
Wednesday’s Forecast:
Wednesday will once again bring a flood and severe weather threat. Our threat zone is for our far NW counties. At 2:30AM showers and storms from central Texas will push east of the I-35 corridor bringing a storm threat.
Thursday’s Forecast:
Thursday morning we are forecasting a line of storms to move through the metro area. Plan on extra time for driving. There is a moderate flood threat (level 2 out of 4) for areas north of I-10.
10-Day Forecast:
Starting Wednesday we head into an unsettled weather pattern which could produce off and on thunderstorms through Saturday.
