Memorial Day Forecast:

Memorial Day will be sizzling hot with temperatures reaching the mid-90s with a heat index 106°-110°. For more on our Memorial Day forecast, check out this article.

Hot and humid. Feels like 110 degrees by the late afternoon.

The NWS continues a Heat Advisory through Monday 10 PM. The reason for this oppressive heat is a dome of high pressure over southern Mexico. We’re on the outer edge of this high. This is doing two things. First, it keeps the severe weather north of us and second, it’s giving us a lot of heat. Try to take it easy out there and make sure you drink plenty of water!

Heat continues to build for Memorial Day. Feels like temperatures will soar to the triple digits.

The heat is followed by a chance for showers and storms, this wet weather will not be a wash out and it arrives late day into Monday night.

A chance for showers and a few storms starting Monday evening and continuing after sunset.
Beach Safety Reminder:

Galveston will warm to the upper 80s and low 90s but humidity at the peak heating of the day could make it feel like the low 100s.

If you have plans to flock to the beach be mindful that there are deadly rip currents. Currently the beach flag system is at a red. This means there is danger due to high surf, rip currents and adults should not go more than waist deep into the water, children should remain at the shoreline.

Rip current risk remains high along the Gulf Coast.
10-Day Forecast:

There is slight relief in the forecast. A front on Tuesday will lower temperatures to the 80s next week. We’ll also get slightly lower morning temperatures and lower humidity.

Staying hot with rain chances increasing this week.
