Showers and storm chances in Houston Monday

Tropical moisture building in the Gulf late week and next week

Isolated to scattered showers and storm chances.

Monday’s Forecast:

It’s going to be another hot and humid day in Houston. You’ll notice it as soon as you step outside! Temperatures start of warm in the upper 70s and low 80s. Heat will continue to build into the low 90s but humidity will make it feel like the upper 90s to low 100s.

Monday morning coastal communities could see showers and storms.

The afternoon and evening will be the focus for isolated to scattered showers and storms. The wet weather is the result of a sea breeze and a cold front moving in from the north. The front is weak and will take its time dropping south through the middle of the week. As it moves south it will bring chances for showers and storms again on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A cold front takes it's time pushing through SE Texas early week. It will bring chances for afternoon and evening showers and storms.
Tropical Outlook:

The Atlantic is quiet but there is an area of rich tropical moisture that will continue to move into the Gulf of Mexico late week into next week. SE Texas may see an uptick in showers and storms going into Juneteenth as a broad area of low pressure develops.

Next week watching for more shower and storm potential as tropical moisture moves in to the western Gulf of Mexico.
10-Day Forecast:

Temperature range for the next 10-days is the lower and mid-90s with mornings in the mid and upper-70s. Early week rain chances are far from a wash out with the best chance for scattered and strong storms Tuesday night into Wednesday .

Rain chances early week with the potential for tropical moisture to produce showers and storms next week.
