Tracking the tropics:
The area of storms in the Caribbean remain disorganized. It’s combating dry air and lots of land in front of it that inhibit tropical development. It has a low, 30% chance of development this weekend. No major impact to southeast Texas is expected.
More concerning to me is the tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean. This has a 80% chance to become a tropical storm and could also become our first hurricane of the year.
This wave is moving toward the Caribbean Sea in the middle of next week. It is too early to say if this will move into the Gulf of Mexico but it is possible. The long range models have this following a track similar to Alberto and the current tropical disturbance in the Caribbean. But this is not a guarantee. We will watch this carefully for you.
Saturday’s Forecast:
Even looking ahead to the weekend it will be HOT! If you’re headed out to Pride on Saturday make sure you drink plenty of water.
10-Day Forecast:
Temperatures get hotter next week with Houston getting close to 100°. The 4th is firecracker hot!
