Sunday’s Forecast:
Sunday morning starts off partly cloudy with shower and storm chances increasing throughout the afternoon and evening. Rain coverage will be isolated to spotty for SE Texas. However, some storms could still produce brief heavy downpours and lightning so if you hear thunder roar head indoors.
Temperatures start off in the upper 70s with highs in the low 90s. Feels like temperatures will reach the low 100s.
Tracking the tropics:
There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean or Atlantic Ocean. The only spot to watch is a cluster of storms off the coast of northern Florida. The threat of those storms becoming Debby are now down to nearly zero.
Another factor in keeping the tropics quiet is huge plums of Saharan dust that are helping to snuff out any development from tropical waves at this point.
10-day Forecast:
For those that don’t have power, it will be very uncomfortable until the power comes back on. Late week a cold front will drop temperatures slightly below average into the upper 80s.
