Late week cold front ramps up rain chances in Houston

Early week showers chance drop off but heat remains

Monday’s Forecast:

Temperatures across SE Texas will hit the low to mid 90s, but thanks to the heat and humidity, it will “feel like” 105 in some spots today.

Most areas reach the low to mid 90s in SE Texas.

There are isolated rain chances on Monday; therefore, recovery efforts should not be disrupted due to weather. Showers and storms will likely hug the coast and stay south of I-10.

Isolated and stray showers and storms mainly south of I-10.

Tracking Rain:

Late in the week, a cold front will push through the Lone Star state, increasing rain chances starting Thursday and continuing into Saturday. Although it is a cold front, consider the temperature difference minimal but noticeable- instead of being in the 90s, we’ll drop to the upper 80s.

Rain chances increase late week.
An increase in shower and storm chances Thursday into the weekend.

Tracking the tropics:

There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean or Atlantic Ocean. The only spot to watch is a cluster of storms off the coast of northern Florida. The threat of those storms becoming Debby are now down to nearly zero.

Another factor in keeping the tropics quiet is huge plums of Saharan dust that are helping to snuff out any development from tropical waves at this point.

10-day Forecast:
