HOUSTON – We are tracking rain chances for the weekend—but don’t stress! It will not be a washout. This means with proper preparation; you shouldn’t have to work out or drive in the rain!
Saturday’s Rainfall:
We will start off Saturday dry! Any showers before lunchtime should be off the coast, or well south of I-10. This means that the earlier you can run errands, or start jogging the better!
After 1 p.m., we can expect to see showers and storms push inland. Although rain chances increase after 1 p.m., it’s still only a 30% chance you will get caught in a passing shower or storm.
We are not expecting any of these storms to be severe, however, it is possible to see frequent lightning strikes. This means if you do have outdoor plans, I’d recommend having a plan if a thunderstorm moves into your area.
Storms should taper off after sunset.
Sunday’s Rainfall:
Sunday should be similar to Saturday. The biggest difference is that we will see more coastal showers in the morning. Areas south of I-10 will start off more soggy.
Areas north of I-10 can expect to see rain chances increase after 1 p.m. The storms that are by the coast will push inland through the afternoon.
Storms will become more widespread by the heat of the day. We will start to see influence from our next cold front into Sunday night.
Rain chances are likely through the upcoming week. Stay weather aware and keep our radar handy!
