HOUSTON, Texas – Rounds of rain impacted the Houston area over the last 12 hours.

Almost seven inches of rain fell between Bonney and Manvel, taking the trophy for heaviest rainfall totals. Other surrounding areas saw anywhere from two inches of rainfall to over four inches.
An Areal Flood Advisory remains in effect for portions of Brazoria, Fort Bend, and Harris counties until 11:45 a.m.
North of the loop, areas saw much less rainfall than areas to the south. The most rainfall fell just east of Kingwood, receiving just under 3.5 inches of rain.
Looking toward the coast, rainfall totals ranged from an inch to just under 3.5 inches.
A look at the Future Track:
We’re not out of the woods just yet. A large area of rain that is currently south of Corpus is slated to sneak north into our area over the next two to six hours. Some storms could produce heavy downpours and frequent lightning, but none of those storms are expected to be severe. With all of the rain we have received already, minor flooding is not out of the question.
Regardless, this could impact the afternoon commute home, causing major delays.

Once we get to Friday, rain chances start to decrease for the Houston area.
The Weather Prediction Center is forecasting 2.5 to three inches along the coast, while areas north of the coast could see anywhere from an inch to two inches.
The heaviest rainfall is forecast to stretch from the far southeast portions of Chambers County out towards Louisiana.
