Check out these 5-day rainfall totals:

It’s been an incredibly stormy week in SE Texas and we have more rain expected this weekend.

A wet mess over the last five days.
Saturday’s Forecast:

The flood watch has been extended through 1pm Saturday. You can tell by the time that the heaviest rain is expected to fall Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon will be overcast with light rain possible. Some coastal cities could pick up and additional 2″-4″ of rain. The ground is saturated, so any additional rain can easily bring more flooding.

Areas of concern are from Houston to the coast (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)
Saturday into Sunday some areas could pick up 4" or more of rain south of I-10.
Tracking the tropics:

After a quiet second half of July, the tropics my wake up at the end of next week. There is a 20% chance of development with a tropical wave in the Atlantic over the next 7 days. The wave enters a zone with less Saharan Dust and little wind shear, giving the wave a chance to develop. If it becomes a tropical storm it would become Debby. It has a 10% chance to become a hurricane near Florida August 5th.

20% a tropical wave develops into a organized system in the next 7 days.

10-day Forecast:

We stay in this active storm pattern through the weekend. Stay weather aware because flooding happens quickly. The increase in rain means lower-than-normal temperatures through Saturday. 95° is our average this time of year. We will flip the script next week, with the temperatures back into the mid-90s.
