HOUSTON – A heat advisory is in place from 11AM-9PM Thursday for temperatures around 100° but feeling up to 110°.
Our heat risk is extreme. This is not typical summer time heat. Make sure you are taking care of yourself if you are working or spending time outside.
Tracking the tropics:
Tropical Storm Debby is continuing to bring heavy rainfall to the southeastern United States. Debby has been moving around 3 mph for the past 24-hours. Debby will finally pick up speed Friday and quickly move through the northeastern United States.
The rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet for now. The tropical wave we’ve been tracking has completely fallen apart. There are several tropical disturbances moving off the coast of Africa. Long range data shows the potential for a tropical storm to form at the end of next week.

Extremely hot temperatures are with us through Friday. Our average for this time of year is 96°. Next week high pressure weakens a little lowering temperatures and giving us a small chance of sea breeze storms every day. Next week’s pattern is much more typical for this time of year.
