HOUSTON – Sunday’s Forecast:
Another sweaty Sunday for SE Texas. Our heat advisory has been extended into Sunday. We’re tracking triple digit heat and “feel like” temperatures of 112+. Sunday’s shower chances are less than 20%, making travel easy as you head to the Astros game.
Tracking The Tropics:
Ernesto is the only storm in the Atlantic. It made landfall in Bermuda early Saturday morning as a category 1 hurricane. Ernesto will continue to weaken and move northeast becoming a tropical storm by Tuesday. There will be no impacts to the Gulf Coast with this storm.
Although, Ernesto did not directly impact the United States, it is leading to dangerous seas along the east coast with deadly rip currents.
No Relief Coming From The Heat:
Strong high pressure ridge is dominate our weather pattern. The ridge will weaken slightly so instead of triple digits we drop a few degrees into the mid and upper 90s as August comes to an end. If you are sunbird in search of cooler temperatures, you’ll need to head up to Midwest, where temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s by the end of the month.
10-day Forecast:
Sunday through the early week rain chances are nil to none. That changes as a stalled front will open the door for more expansive rain chances by midweek through the end of the week.
